DO YOU LOVE BROWNIES?
DO YOU LOVE CHEESECAKE?
If both of your answers are YES! then you are the perfect candidate for this tutorial. If you love them both, why not do them both? These brownies are truly amazing and unconventional. Its one of our favorite desserts, its practically perfect. Its a perfect combination of cheesecake and brownie, they both complement each other so perfectly. Either way this brownie recipe is excellent for our Brownie Truffle Tutorial and for regular brownies too.
We got this recipe from our roommate while we were in college, and have not stopped baking it ever since! Its a blessing to have discovered this recipe in our dorms. And it really gives you creamy and really rich brownies.
For this recipe you will need:
Bake at 350 F, or 160 C for 40 minutes
For the Brownie:
- 2 sticks of butter
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1 cup flour
- 1/2 cup Hershey’s Cocoa
- Chocolate Chips or Chopped Walnuts
*NOTE: Mix only by hand (NOT WITH MIXER).*
For the Cheesecake Part:
- 1 8oz package of Philadelphia cream cheese
- 1 egg
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
First of all cream your butter, to help you cream your butter manually put it in the microwave for 10 seconds on high, it doesn’t matter that some bits of butter are melted. Once you’ve done this, add the cocoa and mix throughly, we wouldn’t want any cocoa lumps in our brownies. Add sugar and two of the eggs, mix until well combined. After add flour and the rest of the eggs. Once they’re incorporated add vanilla, but don’t overmix because vanilla tends to lose its flavor if over mixed. Add chocolate chips or walnuts as you please.
Once this is done, butter your pan slightly and evenly.
For the cheesecake part, first cream the Philadelphia with a rubber spatula and add sugar until incorporated. Then add egg and vanilla. Again be careful when mixing. When adding the cheesecake over the brownie in the pan, try to make it as even as possible, and then with a knife, make a marbled effect onto the brownie.
